Effective September 28, 2026. Oversee Map is designed for public-interest research without building a profile of where visitors travel.
Device location
Your browser asks for location permission only after you press Near me or Use my device location. Using Near me keeps the coordinates in your browser and uses them to center and sort the map. They are not added to an Oversee Map record.
If you deliberately use device location in the submission form and then submit, those coordinates are saved as the possible camera location you chose to report. Check the coordinates before sending.
Submissions and corrections
A location submission may contain a place label, Florida community and county, optional camera coordinates, evidence type, public source link, notes, and review status. A correction may contain the selected map record, issue type, optional public evidence link, notes, and review status.
The public forms do not ask for your name, email address, license plate, travel history, or contact details. Do not put personal information, credentials, plate reads, or active-investigation details in a submission.
Public sources and map records
Published map records use public-source metadata such as locations, vendor or system labels, operator names when stated by the source, citations, and verification status. Oversee Map does not publish captured plate data or individual vehicle histories.
Accounts, administration, and hosting
Browsing the public map does not create an Oversee Map profile. The review desk remains restricted to the project owner. The Oversee Map application does not include advertising trackers or a third-party analytics SDK.
Submitted material and review history are retained in the project database for moderation, provenance, corrections, and auditability.
Questions and deletion requests
Email privacy@overseenmap.com to ask a privacy question or request deletion of material you submitted. Include the submission or correction reference when available, but do not send credentials, plate reads, or sensitive personal information. Requests are fulfilled when the material can be identified and retention is not required to preserve source integrity, security, or legal obligations.
